Building the system and getting the companies commercialized
1584_ 7/14/14 - EY Entrepreneur Finalist Jeff Pruitt is founding partner and CEO of Tallwave a venture development and venture capital firm. Jeff said they've connected a consulting firm, sleeves-rolled-up, hands-on, taking companies through the validation process, creating product / market fit and then actually commercializing companies on one side of the business - the venture capital on the other side. We have an $18 million seed fund. They work hand-in-hand on getting software-as-a-service and digital marketing companies through that crucial period of time where you're beyond concept but you're having to go commercialize something to get in the market. While venture capital is behind the success of so many companies, Jeff says, "It's more than capital - it is understanding the market. And, before you go and deploy capital, understanding where you're going to point your company; where the market is, how you're going to market it. But then early-enough-on, user interface, building the product, building the system, building the sales system and getting these companies commercialized - and that's a very crucial point.
